National Do Not Call Registry

Nobody likes to receive unsolicited marketing calls.  When you’re applying for credit, the credit bureaus (Equifax, Trans Union, Experian) can legally sell certain pieces of your credit data to phone solicitors.  This data will include your name, address, phone number and the type of credit for which you are applying.   When the bureaus sell this data, the intent of the recipient is to get you to buy whatever product with them, even though you’ve done your research and have created a relationship already.  Mortgage is no different.  When you apply for a loan, these national solicitors may call you in volume trying to sell you their product.  The issue is that there are so many solicitors out there that if you are not on already on the ‘Do Not Call’ registry, you could receive 50-100 phone calls in just a couple of days.   To avoid this, you can sign up here via the National Do Not Call Registry and avoid solicitation on all of your purchases requiring a credit report.

The process takes about two minutes and is self-explanatory.
